"There
is no set plan for the paintings - it is a physical and sensual
process through which I allow forms to emerge.
I
circle around the canvas, constantly rotating it and examining
it from different angles. There is a rhythm to the physical
process that is reflected in the dancing shapes.
Mixing
sand with the paint creates a rugged surface that entices
the viewer. The patchwork quality of the work is achieved
through the use of chicken wire. This allows other colours
to come through and interact with each other on the surface."
